Privacy policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This policy explains what information Calcupine (https://calcupine.com/) collects when you use the site, and how it is used. If you have questions, contact us at info@calcupine.com.

Information you enter in calculators

Measurements you type into a calculator are processed in your own browser. They are not sent to us. When you use a calculator, your inputs are added to the page address so that the Share this result link works; anyone you send that link to can see those measurements.

Your last inputs for each calculator, and prices you type into a shopping list, are saved in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can clear them by clearing your browser's site data.

Camera measuring

On supported Android phones, the Measure button uses your camera through your browser's augmented reality feature. The camera image is processed on your phone by the browser; we do not record it, store it or send it anywhere. Only the final measurement is placed in the calculator. On iPhone, the button opens Apple's Measure app page; if you choose Paste measurement, your browser reads the text you copied, only when you tap that button.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the fonts load.

Advertising and cookies

We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show advertising, which keeps the calculators free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads, analytics or other non-essential cookies are used.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages and calculators are visited, roughly where visitors come from (country and city level), the device and browser type, and how people arrive (for example from a search engine). Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, which Google uses to estimate location and does not store or share with us. We do not send Google the measurements you type into calculators, and we cannot identify you from these reports.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics does not set cookies until you choose Accept; before that, Google receives only cookieless signals. Anyone can change their choice at any time with the Cookie choices link at the bottom of every page. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google's own practices are described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Calculators embedded on other websites do not load Google Analytics.

Children

This site is intended for adults planning home projects. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California and the European Union, you may have rights to access or delete personal information about you, or to opt out of its sale or sharing for advertising. Use the opt-out links above, or contact us and we will help.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change and show the new date at the top.
